Welcome to OFMT

The OFMT welcomes the adventure sports lovers of all walks of life to visit the website www.ofmt.org where they will find the details of 28 Mountaineering Expeditions in different parts of Himalayan region, more numbers of Trekking Expeditions, Rock Climbing Courses along with some snapshots. The club also welcomes people of interest to come and visit physically the unique OFMT Photo Gallery which definitely will delight them and enthuse them to participate in different adventure programmes organised by the members of OFMT. Every year, the club arranges a family trekking which are not limited to club members and their families but extended to any interested participants of outside club periphery. People from 6 to 66 years can participate in Rock Climbing Course of the club held once every year during Dec - Jan.

Aims & Objectives

Though initially the founder members of OFMT, RFI set up the club to engage themselves for their personal pleasure in adventurism but behind their mind they always had been nourishing the idea of promoting the sports in and around the factory walls and the local area. Aims and objectives being producing a lot of self-confident young force which may be useful for both the factory in particular and the society in general.

They knew absolutely well that the adventure sports particularly the mountain ones cover a wide range of subjects right from physical and mental fitness to text book discipline of self-confidence and leadership qualities equally in unsmart and so called smart youngsters. And they started their training activities from that very year of inception in 1982.

Therefore, the aims and objectives of the club have become to impart primary training and to inspire for Basic Mountaineering Course, Advance Course, Adventure Course, Alpine Course, Search & Rescue Course, Method of Instruction (MoI) Course and so on in the reputed mountaineering institutions in India to the youngsters and middle aged group irrespective of male and female. So that a chunk of people may come out every year growing their self-confidence, absolute discipline and love for the nature.

To inspire even in the home front the club arranges a family trek every year with the people from 6 to 66 years of age to have an experience of a disciplined camp life, to grow a love for the nature with a touch of a little bit adventurism. This way the club has brought out a thousands of well disciplined nature lovers and self-confident people in last 30 years.
